We have some exciting news for players aged 4 – 7 years (birth years 2011-2014)! An excellent program known as the “Futures Academy” will be offered in lieu of the Mod program. Academy style training is a tried and true method that provides a great introduction to soccer using a standardized curriculum to teach fundamentals. Most importantly, the Futures Academy is geared towards helping young players develop a passion for the game while having FUN!
The academy style program does not focus on team creation nor team development, but rather individual player development. The Academy is run by a qualified Director, along with volunteer trainers who are provided with the methodology of the program. Each 6-week Academy block session is $70, and includes a T-shirt (rather than a full uniform kit). There are 2 practice sessions per week at one location, and player jamborees are held at a high school stadium approximately every 3 weeks. Registration is now open for “Block Session 3” which will begin the week of September 10. One Block Session 3 will take place in Auburn, and one in Bonney Lake. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW
We encourage parental involvement in the Academy sessions with the hope of developing future coaches and managers for the club! Parents who are interested in learning the standardized curriculum and becoming volunteer trainers may contact Mike Avery (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Charlie Carlier (email@example.com).

MRFC is proud to announce its recently formed partnership with Enumclaw Special Olympics, and is now on the forefront of growing the Special Olympics/Unified Soccer Program within the MRFC Community and surrounding areas.
MRFC is seeking Adult Coaches
Whether you’re new to coaching, or new to working with people with intellectual disabilities, you will discover that coaching a Unified Sports team is unlike any other experience you’ve ever had. While the challenges may be similar – you will be defining roles in line with ability and fostering teamwork – the goals, motivations and even the meaning of winning are different.
MRFC is seeking Unified Athletes & Unified Partners
Special Olympics is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins Unified Athletes (with intellectual disabilities) and Unified Partners (without intellectual disabilities) on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
In Unified Sports, teams are made up of people of similar age and ability. That makes practices more fun and games more challenging and exciting for all. Having sport in common is just one more way that preconceptions and false ideas are swept away.
Ages: 8-15 (All teams are co-ed)
Registration is OPEN: see link below
Registration Fee: $40 for each Special Olympic Unified Athlete or Unified Partner
Practices Begin: March 26th, 2018 (Two practices per week)
If you are interested in joining a Unified Soccer Team or have any questions prior to registering, please contact: Charlie Carlier at email@example.com
